Privacy at the newsroom.
Curfewexora handles names, inboxes and reading lists because that is the work. We collect only what the desk needs, keep it in the United Kingdom, and delete it when the work ends.
Who we are
Curfewexora is the data controller. The newsroom is at 10 Moody St, Congleton CW12 4AP, United Kingdom. Write to [email protected] with any request about your information.
We process personal data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where we send email newsletters or service notes, we also follow the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
What we collect
From people who write to the desk: name, organisation, email address, and the content of the message. From subscribers: the principals, organisations and titles they ask us to watch, plus delivery addresses for the 06:30 note. From this website: the essential cookies needed to remember a cookie choice.
Why we hold it
To reply, to deliver monitoring and briefings, to keep embargoes, and to meet accounting and legal duties. The lawful bases are contract (when you take a service), legitimate interests (when you write unsolicited and we reply), and consent (for optional cookies).
Where it stays
Mail, files and backups are stored on servers in the United Kingdom. We do not sell lists. We do not pass subscriber names to other newsrooms except where a distribution send, which you have asked for, requires a reporter to have a contact.
How long
Enquiry mail is kept for 24 months after the last reply. Subscriber records last for the life of the contract and 12 months after it ends, unless a longer legal hold applies. Cookie choices last 12 months.
Your rights
- Access a copy of what we hold.
- Correct it, or ask us to delete it.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
